Beware! If this place is busy, the service is incredibly, unbelievably slow. The first time we went, the place was half-full. We waited 30 minutes for our udon, but it hadn't come yet, so we got tired and left. On our return visit, we were the only ones there, and it took 12 minutes for us to be served, which was perfectly acceptable. The udon was fine, but nothing special. If you're stranded at Fujiyoshida Station, and the place isn't busy, it's worth a try, but don't go out of your way.
Really, the udon wasn't bad at all. The tempura was flavorful, and the noodles were good. Plus, the niku was a nice strip of sukiyaki beef. No karashi, though, is a drawback.
