Reviews & Opinions

Peter:

Alright. I admit that this was the friendliest udon shop I've been to. The couple who owns/runs the place was really nice. Nonetheless, the udon wasn't great. The broth was bland, and the noodles were bland and a little on the sticky side. The tempura was good, and the "blue" goma-karashi was interesting--tasty and moderately spicy.

Udon Chewiness: 3
Overall: 3 , The udon was below average, but the friendliness earns the place points. If a friendly lunch spot is important to you, then Marui might be high on your list of places to try.

The broth was okay, the best part of the udon. The noodles were less chewy than I prefer. Pretty good all around but I'd rather go to other shops in the future. The owners were very nice and the shop had a charming mom-and-pop feel.
