Musashi Udon

February 13, 2005 (and several other times)

Shop #51 on the Official Yoshida Udon Map

This might be our favorite shop so far, all things considered. It's in a fairly new building, as far as udon shops go. It was empty when we arrived a little after 11:30, and nearly full when we left just after noon.

Reviews & Opinions

Peter:

As you can see from the picture, I had tsuke udon this time. It was wonderful. The karashi wasn't as spicy as some we've had lately. There was no tanuki. More meat was served here than at Miura Udon. The noodles here are perfect--chewy and rough. The broth is tasty and satisfying, salty and sweet.

Udon Chewiness: 10 , Wow, perfect! Rivalling Miura for the best I've had.

Overall: 10

Keiko:

That is my new favorite udon shop. Noodle was silky but yet, chewy. Such a nice texture!
Big thumbs up for "Musashi Udon" from the menu. That's what I had. It has everything on it. Kakiage tempura, wakame, kitsune, aburaage, and of course, cabbage!

mm! mm! goooood(^0^)
I felt a joy every bite of it. It was fantastic udon!

notes for a couple things: 1)no tanuki.(if you like tanuki, get the fabulous tempura, instead!)
2)2 spices:karasi-not that hot.;Sansyo
3)the only place I saw "non-smoking "sign
4)not a tatami floor
Overall: 8 out of 10.
