Ofukuro Udon

Shop #12 on the Official Yoshida Udon Map

Two types of fresh karashi: red and black. The red is hotter, "sharper" as Keiko says. Black is sesame-based "goma".

Keiko:

I had the tamago udon. The tamago was poached egg. I ordered a regular size, which was a good amount for me. Overall, it was pretty good udon. My distinct memory of this place is the layout. It feels like it's a large, traditional Japanese house, and I felt like I am in a maze. I couldn't figure out which room I should go to to eat udon. Service was nice. I felt at home after I sat down. And I felt like this was a place I could stay a long time and have a chat with good friends. If I have a family to go with to have an intimate time, I might choose this place.
