The udon was pretty good. It had a "houtou" slant to it, which I liked. Also, the karashi was spicy and fresh, in an oil. I had the tempura udon. The disappointment was that the biggest piece of tempura was eggplant (although the 2nd biggest piece was kabocha--Japanese Squash). The problem here is that it's not an inviting place. It seems to be an old mens' club. There were 6 or 7 gentlemen in the 60's sitting around drinking and smoking, giving the place an uninviting atmosphere. There's no real reason to go here for udon.
