Tabata Udon

Not on the Official Yoshida Udon Map

This awesome order taking ticket machine is one of the highlights at Tabata. You choose what you want, put your money in, and press the button. A little ticket comes out with your order on it. Then, you hand your ticket to the lady in the kitchen. This way, she doesn't have to handle any cash, and there's never any questions or concerns about money. Very Japanese.

I keep trying to take non-chalant pictures of the kitchen.

My quite large bowl of niku tsuke.

I ordered the Tamago (egg) Udon, where the udon is flavored by a boiled egg. The udon was very flavorful and good! The portion was big, the noodle was soft, but firm. It didn't break into pieces even though it is a long, thin, sliced noodle. The broth was fish broth with miso. It was good and flavorful broth. One difference from common udon shops is the method of ordering udon. You will buy a ticket from a machine, and give it to the waitress. The don't have much of a menu, so it's fairly easy to order. The service was great; nice and welcoming.
Overall:
I would recommend this udon shop, and I will go back again.
