Shop #13 on the Official Yoshida Udon Map

Paul recommended Tenseiya, since the parents of one of his students own the place. As you can see, we also brought Momi, Andy, and Jason. They all wanted to get in on the phenomenon of my Yoshida Udon Page.

Reviews & Opinions

Peter:

Pretty good.Broth was good, not great, it was miso-based, a little different than most. Karashi was outstanding, very spicy. Meat was plain. Menu had a lot of variety; atmosphere was nice, workers were pleasant.

Udon Chewiness: 7
Overall: 7

7/10:
It was not too bad. I loved the atmosphere of the place.
I believe many people are fond of this shop since many people were waiting for a seat.

It was miso based which is rare for Yoshida udon.
I had a Kinpira Udon. The kinpira was finely sliced gobo and carrots with sesame seed. It was sweet, liquidy and oily, a bit. It was interesting combination with the miso base.

The karashi was very good and very spicy!

Paul:
7/10 The parents of two of my students own this place, so I thought it'd be fun to go. The noodles were good, and the karashi was tasty. Not much more to say about it though!

Momi:
I agree with your assessment of today's udon shop.

Jason:
I'd never seen gomadare hiyashi udon before, so I was ready to be blown away by a new taste sensation. Unfortunately, the texture of the cold noodles was too soft and I'm pretty sure the goma-dare was Cupie brand goma salad dressing with a few sesames sprinkled on top. The rice dish on the side was a bit greasy. Unremarkable, but a bonus point for originality: 6
